Get prepared for September with Making Primary Science Assessment Work!
Are you struggling with assessing without levels? Well we have the solution!
Making Primary Science Assessment Work is a comprehensive online resource to help with assessing pupils without levels.
Following on from Kent Primary Science Scheme of Work, this resource has been developed by Andrew Berry for primary school teachers to progress their assessment procedures further. Making Primary Science Assessment Work is a plethora of ideas, activities and helpful resources that aims to accomplish the needs of teachers and pupils with regards to assessment procedures.
From a teacher’s perspective, this resource will yield information that can inform their teaching in a timely manner. The information gathered will also make it easier for teachers to track where the pupils are in their understanding of science and skills learnt as they progress through their school life.
From a pupil’s point of view, the activities are engaging, relevant and encourage them to understand where their understanding fits within the bigger picture. The children will have tasks to complete which will require them to take part in and talk about the questions asked.

Two years on from the release of the Kent Primary Science Scheme Of Work (PSSOW), Andrew Berry has decided that it is time to release a new resource that will enable primary schools to develop their assessment procedures further.
Making Primary Science Assessment Work has been created with the Kent PSSOW in mind. It was of utmost importance to not replicate any activities that are already present in the PSSOW; thus helping to ensure that pupils are engaged in the new and exciting activities recommended. The resource has been structured so that it can be used alongside the Kent PSSOW so that learning and assessment can be part of the same process.
